As we enter another promising year at CMSA Today, I extend my deepest gratitude to each of you for your role in professional case management. In the dynamic and ever-evolving world of healthcare, the role of case managers remains pivotal. This month, we spotlight a crucial segment of our community: social workers, military and VA case managers.
At the foundational core of CMSA lies inclusiveness. From the day the association was formed in 1990, CMSA has prioritized an inclusive approach to membership. By welcoming case managers from every setting, discipline and expertise to be members of this diverse group, CMSA fosters collaboration and enhances professional development as a result.

A nurse case manager’s greatest challenge is finding resources for their patient and their families that don’t fall under traditional insurance. Learning about these resources is a job unto itself, so once I find one, I like to share the information with my colleagues so they can check out the resource and keep it in mind for future use.

A professional nurse case manager has an interesting role in the arena of workers’ compensation.
