The social stigma associated with any mental health concern, including postpartum depression, prevents many mothers from openly communicating with friends, family or their medical provider about their symptoms, preventing them from getting the help they need. It is important, now more than ever, to bring awareness to this pregnancy complication to help patients who suffer from postpartum depression get the treatment they need.
