The Future of Healthcare Powered by Case Management
Thank you to everyone who joined us both in-person and virtually for the CMSA Annual Conference, held June 4-7 in historic Providence, Rhode Island! It was an incredible week filled with learning, networking and fun. CMSA extends heartfelt gratitude to our exceptional volunteers, including our CMSA Board, committee members, chapter leaders, speakers, session volunteers and the Case Management Society of New England Chapter, for your hard work and dedication in making #CMSA2024 a resounding success.
Attendees caught up with old friends and met new ones, plus there were many exciting announcements and acknowledgements made! Here are the highlights:
• The Opening Reception was a fun time to reconnect, make new friends, and catch up on the past year with an eye on the future with tarot card readings!
• The CMSA Expo Hall was full of exhibitors offering new and innovative products and resources, supporting case managers in their work.
• The CMSA 2024 Class of Case Management Fellows was inducted. For the third year, the Fellow program recognizes distinguished individuals who have made a significant contribution to the professional practice of case management through leadership, innovation and scholarship. Congratulations to the best of the best in case management!
• MVD Day provided an opportunity for Military, VA, and DoD case managers to explore current issues and trends, as well as discuss case management challenges and celebrate successes!
• The 2023-2024 CMSA Board of Directors was recognized for its hard work and commitment to CMSA. Thank you to outgoing Directors Laura Ostrowsky and Dr. Samantha Walker for their support and leadership.
• The new 2024-2025 CMSA Board of Directors was announced, including incoming President Janet Coulter and Directors Cynthia Hopkins and Carolina Mosley.
• Congratulations to CMSA Lifetime Achievement Award winner, Dr. Melanie Prince!
• Congratulations to the 2024 CMSA Award of Service Excellence recipient, Joyace Ussin.

• Three Keynotes, Two Symposia, One Lunch & Learn, Two Networking Roundtable Events, 43 Live Educational Sessions, Nine On-Demand Presentations, and 22 Posters Presentations offered hours of learning, connecting and CEs for attendees from around the world.
• CMSA Chapters, the foundation of CMSA, met to strengthen the network nationwide and strategize for the future.
• Two Preconference Sessions helped to elevate case managers with their motivational interviewing skills, and those looking to sharpen their writing skills.
• Thank you to our CMSA Partners and Conference Sponsors for helping make the week possible.
• Breaking News! Attendees heard it here first—many new programs were announced, and hot-off-the-presses initiatives launched during the Conference including the new CMSA Rising Professionals in Case Management recognition program, the CMSA CMS MCP Position Paper, CMSA Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Position Statement, and Case Management Fact Sheets. All will be available on www.cmsa.org.
• And perhaps the most remarkable aspect? Being together! What an exhilarating experience it was to spend time with friends, colleagues and like-minded individuals, all passionate about advancing the practice of case management and transforming healthcare. As we unite, we are not only discovering innovative solutions but also driving change and shaping the future of healthcare together, powered by the dedication and expertise of case managers!
