Leadership for Today and Tomorrow: The Inaugural CMSA Virtual Leadership Conference
October 11, 2025 | Live, Virtual Event | 10 AM – 5 PM ET | 6 CEs

The demand for leadership education within the case management profession has never been greater. As care delivery systems become more complex and interdisciplinary collaboration becomes essential, case managers are increasingly expected to lead—not just within teams, but across organizations and systems.

CMSA’s first-ever Virtual Leadership Conference responds directly to this need. Developed specifically for mid-to-senior-level case managers, the program focuses on elevating leadership skills in a context that reflects the realities of healthcare today. Topics include financial decision-making, building and sustaining culture, leading virtual teams and making the case to the C-suite. Sessions will also explore evolving industry trends and strategic thinking for future-focused practice.

By tailoring the conference to the roles and responsibilities of case managers, CMSA reinforces its commitment to growing leadership from within the profession—ensuring that those guiding teams and influencing policy are grounded in the principles and values of case management.

Building the Foundation: CMSA Case Management Boot Camp
September 24–26, 2025 | In Person | Nashville, TN | 19.5 CEs

Case management remains one of the most rapidly evolving roles in healthcare, and early-career professionals often enter the field without standardized training. CMSA’s Case Management Boot Camp addresses this gap through a rigorous, structured and highly engaging learning experience designed for those with five years or less in the profession.

Participants frequently describe the Boot Camp as transformative—a hands-on, case-study-based training that brings theory to life. The immersive curriculum includes:

  • Your Professional Footprint: Deep dives into standards of practice, ethics, communication and motivational interviewing.
  • Regulations and Legislation: A practical look at policies and systems that shape case management, including the CARES Act and military/VA frameworks.
  • Process and Practice: Interactive walkthroughs of the case management process, with real-world scenarios, interdisciplinary collaboration and transition of care planning.

In addition to receiving a comprehensive participant guide, each Boot Camp cohort becomes a professional network—offering support, mentorship and shared learning that extends beyond the classroom. For new professionals or those transitioning into a new case management setting, CM Boot Camp provides the tools and confidence to grow a meaningful and successful career.

Focusing on Military and Federal Practice: MVD Day 2025
November 1, 2025 | Live, Virtual Event

Case managers working in military, VA and DoD/DHA settings navigate complex, high-impact environments with distinct challenges and responsibilities. CMSA’s annual Military-VA-DoD (MVD) Day is designed to support these professionals through targeted education, meaningful community connection and the sharing of best practices.

Originally planned as an in-person gathering, MVD Day 2025 has been rescheduled to a virtual format in response to new travel and leave restrictions affecting many MVD case managers. This shift ensures that all who serve in these roles can still participate in this important day of learning—without the barriers of distance or scheduling.

This year’s theme—Collaboration Creates Innovation—spotlights the power of partnership in driving improved outcomes across military and veteran health systems. Whether focusing on care transitions, system navigation or long-term support, the sessions are crafted to reflect the lived realities and mission-focused roles of MVD case managers.

CMSA remains deeply committed to this community. Through MVD Day and year-round advocacy and education, CMSA continues to serve as a trusted resource and ally to those supporting our service members, veterans, and their families.
