Elevating Case Management Through Education, Networking and Community: CMSA in 2025

In a profession as dynamic and vital as case management, staying informed, connected and prepared is key to providing exceptional care. Whether it’s fostering meaningful connections with peers, building advanced skills or exploring innovative practices, the Case Management Society of America (CMSA) continues to empower case managers to thrive in their careers and make a lasting impact.

As we move into 2025, CMSA is proud to offer unparalleled opportunities for professional development, networking and collaboration. From targeted networking sessions to transformative education and milestone celebrations, this year is packed with initiatives designed to help case managers elevate their practice.

BRIDGING THE GAPS IN RURAL CASE MANAGEMENT

Rural healthcare poses unique challenges—geographic isolation, resource limitations and healthcare access disparities, to name a few. Case managers in rural settings often serve as lifelines, bridging these gaps to ensure their clients receive the care they need. Recognizing the critical role of these professionals, CMSA established the Rural Special Interest Group (RSIG) to connect case managers working in rural communities with peers who share their challenges, successes and strategies.

CMSA RSIG is more than a network; it’s a community. It’s a place where rural case managers can collaborate, share innovative solutions and gain access to resources tailored to the unique demands of their practice. On Monday, March 17 at 5 p.m. Eastern, CMSA will host a virtual RSIG Networking Session exclusively for CMSA members. This event is an opportunity to connect with like-minded professionals who understand the nuances of rural case management. Through these conversations, participants gain actionable insights and forge relationships that elevate their ability to deliver impactful care.

TRANSFORMING PRACTICE THROUGH EDUCATION

Education has always been at the heart of CMSA’s mission. In 2025, we continue to lead the way with our renowned Integrated Case Management (ICM) Training. This comprehensive program, scheduled for April 8-10, 2025, offers case managers an unparalleled opportunity to deepen their skills, build confidence, and improve outcomes for their clients.

The training, based on the Integrated Case Management manual (2nd Edition), combines evidence-based practices with interactive learning to address the most pressing challenges in case management today. Participants will learn advanced strategies for client engagement, risk stratification and the development of integrated care plans—equipping them with tools to tackle even the most complex cases.

Beyond its immediate value, this training is an investment in professional growth. Completing the course not only earns participants 28.5 RN, SW, and CCM continuing education credits, but also supports preparation for the ANCC’s Nursing Case Management Certification exam (CMGT-BC), further validating its importance in professional case management.

By offering the course virtually, CMSA ensures accessibility for case managers across all practice settings. Whether you’re a seasoned professional or new to the field, this transformative experience will leave you better equipped to deliver high-quality care in today’s complex healthcare environment.

CELEBRATING 35 YEARS OF EXCELLENCE AT #CMSA2025

This year also marks a significant milestone for CMSA—the 35th Anniversary Annual Conference & Expo. Since its founding, CMSA has served as the professional home for case managers, providing education, advocacy and community. To celebrate this legacy, CMSA is hosting its Annual Conference from June 24-27, 2025, in Dallas, Texas.

The conference is more than just an event—it’s the ultimate gathering of case management professionals. Attendees will have the opportunity to network with industry leaders and peers, attend inspiring keynote sessions and earn more continuing education credits than any other event in the field. This year’s theme, “Case Management: Innovative Solutions, Improved Outcomes,” reflects CMSA’s commitment to driving the future of healthcare forward.

It’s a perfect opportunity to reconnect with colleagues, gain new insights and join the celebration of CMSA’s legacy of excellence.
