CMSA Military-VA-DoD Day
MVD Day brings together Military, VA, and DoD case managers from across the country for a day dedicated to their professional growth. This year’s theme, “Future Focus: Integrated Care Across the Military and VA Healthcare Continuum,” will offer seven continuing education credits. This special one-day event, developed exclusively for case managers working in the military services, VA, and Department of Defense, focuses on hot topics to help improve their work. As a key membership segment of CMSA, we are committed to delivering education on top trends and innovations unique to MVD case managers.
OPENING KEYNOTE: JUSTIN JONES-FOSU
“Work to a Different Beat”
Own your mindset, meaning and performance at work and home. Justin presents an inside-out approach powered by practical research that empowers case managers to bring their best selves to work every day. Using the African drum as a metaphor of bringing meaning, Justin creates a customized and unforgettable experience that will inspire case managers to take immediate action in how they “show up.”
DAY 2 KEYNOTE: CURTIS HILL
“The Culture of Belonging”
Culture of Belonging is a strategic DEI initiative that maximizes people, caring and outcomes. On an organizational level, we tend to think DEI conversations will lead to disruption or difficulty. The truth is that when DEI is seen as a strategic initiative, it strengthens the foundation of your culture – your people. Curtis will illustrate how this results in diverse teams who are motivated and productive because they feel seen, heard and valued, one in which case managers and those they serve will be enriched.
CLOSING KEYNOTE: BURNS BLAXALL, PhD
“Harnessing the Genome”
Burns C. Blaxall, PhD, is the founding executive director of Precision Medicine at The Christ Hospital Health Network (TCHHN). He leads a transition from reactive to proactive healthcare delivery by harnessing the power of personal diagnostic and genomic data. Dr. Blaxall will share approaches ranging from cutting edge hereditary disease risk assessment, genetic counseling and testing to pharmacogenomics and genome-guided clinical care pathways.

CMSA CASE MANAGEMENT BOOT CAMP
March 8-10, 2024, in Nashville
Case management is a growing healthcare profession, with a presence in every health delivery setting. Professionals moving to case management positions may or may not have access to adequate orientation and training. They often “learn on the job” and are not exposed to knowledge and skills that advance the practice of case management.
CMSA is filling this gap with an in-person CM Bootcamp offering for case managers looking to build their skills and experience. The term “boot camp” originated from the military’s requirement for intensive, short-term training. CMSA’s boot camp will provide an immersive and focused opportunity to grow and enhance the novice case manager’s skills through a three-part structure. If you have been a case manager for five years or less, are looking to change your area of practice or advance your professional growth, this course is for you!
CMSA is committed to elevating the professional practice of case management, supporting case managers for success and encouraging professionals to consider case management as their profession. The CMSA CM Boot Camp experience will help deliver on all three.
CMSA Integrated Case Management Training Program
